Celebration of Life Sister Rachel Watson Parks “Our friends, we want you to know the truth about those who have died, so that you will not be sad, as are those who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will take back with Jesus those who have died believing in him." 1 Thessalonians 4:13,14 Good News Translation We, the Pastor and the entire Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church family of Waukegan, Illinois, extend our love and deepest sympathy to the family of Sister Rachel Watson Parks. Believing that God still hears and answers prayers of the faithful, we pray for your strength and peace today, and in the days ahead. Certainly, we know that many fond memories will soon bring great joy and smiles as you recall her wonderful life. To God Be the Glory for granting Rachel Watson Parks an unwavering desire to utilize her gift of teaching with much joy and compassion. She gave honor and glory to God by teaching Sunday School, Bible Study and Vacation Bible School, and helping others to know His word. We pay homage to this former first lady who labored alongside her husband when he pastored Midway Baptist Church. Further, we certainly believe as did the Apostle Paul that no Christian labors in vain, that our due rewards are awaiting us in heaven. Well done, thy good and faithful servant! One day soon, those of us who are part of the Christian family of believers will all reunite in heaven. Until that time, we pray God’s blessings on each of you, that you may find strength and comfort in your time of need. Lovingly submitted, Pastor Jan Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church Family The Reverend Janice Brazil Cummings, Pastor

Sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest condolences. When I think of losing a loved one as you have, it brings to mind the promise that the Bible holds out at Revelation 21:3,4 where it says that the Grand Creator Jehovah God will wipe away sickness and death forever and reunite us with our loved one on a clean earth in the near future.(John 5:28,29; Psalms 83:18) This may sound like a dream but it will soon be a reality for many families like yours. (John 17:3)  I truly hope these scriptures can serve as comfort in your family's time of distress.
